Day Out with Thomas train ride event
The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee and was founded by the National Railway Historical Society in 1960 by a group of local railway preservationists who cared about saving steam locomotives including railway equipment for future historical display.
The East Chattanooga facility opened 1970 to the public and during this time a structure was not present but the volunteers constructed a rail yard for the storage and repair of equipment all while rebuilding the abandoned rail line through the Whiteside Tunnel. This heritage railroad offers passenger excursion ride like a Day Out with Thomas.
The TVRM and the Tennessee Overhill Heritage Association formed a partnership acquiring part of the former L&N Hook and Eye line which is between Etowah, Tennessee and Copperhill, Tennessee creating the Hiwassee River Rail Adventures.
Be sure to order your Train Engineers Hat in advance and have your child wear it at the event. While many people can purchase these at the venue it will be at an inflated price. Most parents break down and spend the money but if you enjoy saving money consider these great Train Engineer Hats in Blue or Pink, you can’t beat the price.
